Aboriginal Throughcare Youth
Culturally strong, community‑led support for young people
This pathway supports Aboriginal young people from six months prior to release and up to three years post‑release, ensuring sustained care during a critical transition period.
The program strengthens cultural identity, family and community connection while building self‑reliance, stability and opportunity. Support is holistic, trauma‑informed and focused on long‑term outcomes.
This pathway supports people to:
- Reduce or cease reoffending
- Strengthen cultural, family and community connections
- Build self‑reliance, confidence and autonomy
- Improve trauma management and relationships
- Access education, employment, identification and essential services
- Achieve greater financial stability and independence
