Career & Community Transition Pathways
Preparing for life beyond custody
Outcare’s Career Development Pathway supports people in custody, and those preparing for release, to take meaningful steps toward community transition and parole readiness.
Participants are supported to explore employment, training and volunteering pathways while also building confidence, life skills and self‑belief. We connect people with job and skills centres, provide access to resources not easily available in custody, and support broader preparation for life in the community.
This pathway is about more than employment — it’s about rebuilding a sense of purpose, identity, strengthening independence and supporting people to contribute positively to their communities.
This pathway supports people to:
- Demonstrate parole readiness through active engagement
- Access employment, training and volunteering opportunities
- Build confidence and work‑readiness skills
- Strengthen financial literacy, health and life skills
- Transition successfully from custody to community
Program eligibility:
- At least 18 years old
- Either are or have been in the justice system
- Willing to engage.
