On October 23, Outcare hosted its first-ever Team Day – Together in Transition, a vibrant and reflective gathering held on Galup Whadjuk Land and at TSH, Wembley. More than just a team-building event, the day was a celebration of our shared purpose and a way to give back to the organisations that support the communities where we live, work, and raise our families.
The day began with a moving Welcome to Country by Aunty Lois May, an elder from Ebenezer Aboriginal Corporation Elders Group. Aunty Lois shared her personal connection to Country and reminded us of the importance of staying connected—to our clients, our work, and to each other. Her words set a powerful tone for the day, grounding us in respect, reflection, and community.

Working Together for Change
We were joined throughout the day by the PeopleKind Executive Team, with CEO Mark Fitzpatrick addressing the audience early on and executives actively engaging in each of the sessions. Their presence helped align the work we’re doing on the ground with the broader initiatives driven at a group level. It was a strong demonstration of how Outcare collaborates, evident in the open dialogue, shared reflections, and collective commitment to progress. By working together across all levels, we’re building a culture that empowers change and strengthens our impact in the community.
Throughout the day, we explored how we can work together to create meaningful change. We revisited our Reconciliation Action Plan, reflected on our work in community, and examined our connections with peers. These conversations helped us identify areas where we can grow, invest, and make a lasting impact.
Outcare’s five strategic pillars, shaped by valuable staff feedback including the 2025 Employee Culture Review, guided our discussions. Our visual showcase wall illustrated the significant transformation Outcare has undergone on its journey toward Outcare 2028—a strategy now anchored in five key pillars. Staff were invited to reflect, add their own milestones, and contribute ideas for what they’d like to see more of, how they’ll contribute, and what lies ahead.
In the afternoon, we gathered in reflection and story circles, diving into what has changed for us this year across the themes of:
– Leadership
– Learning and Growth
– Support and Wellbeing
– Culture and Inclusion
– Change and Progress
– Teamwork and Connection
These circles created space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and collective visioning—strengthening the bonds across our teams.

Celebrating Our People
The day concluded with a session led by our Executive Team, connecting the golden thread that runs through Outcare—what we do and why it matters. This was followed by a light-hearted and laughter-filled Outcare Olympics, featuring good old Aussie Thong throws, puzzle races and the grand finale: the executive egg and spoon race where Jennelle Horsford claimed the 2025 Trophy of Glory!
Fuelled by soft serves and sunshine, the afternoon was a joyful celebration of teamwork and spirit.
We closed the day with Voices of 2025—a compilation of stories from our people across WA. These stories captured the challenges, triumphs, and everyday realities of our frontline teams. It’s through their voices that Outcare continues to evolve, grow, and shape how we serve communities across Western Australia.
Together in Transition was a chance to pause, connect, and co-create the future of Outcare. With our people at the heart of everything we do, we’re setting a new standard for empowering individuals to live their best lives.
